Described as one of London’s finest Georgian treasures and among “the greatest terrace houses ever built in Britain” 10-11 Carlton House Terrace is an exceptional backdrop for any occasion. Steeped in 180 years of history, with an impressive list of former tenants including Prime Minister William Gladstone, the Guinness family and now the British Academy, this John Nash designed terrace overlooking the Mall and St James’s Park is unique in style & character.

The British Academy was established by Royal Charter in 1902, champions and supports the humanities and social sciences. It is an independent, self-governing fellowship of scholars elected for their distinction and achievement.

The Academy is able to offer the opportunity to hire the prestigious facilities of 10 & 11 Carlton House Terrace. Any combination of our rooms can be used and enjoyed at rates that are incomparable for such an opulent central London location.
