Each year the AIM 'club' gathers to celebrate outstanding achievement on the world's most successful growth market. Now in its 23rd year, the AIM Awards Dinner attracts over 1,100 guests.

This year, Food Show were delighted to cater for the event at Old Billingsgate; a striking landmark venue, perfectly situated on the banks of the River Thames and with multiple versatile spaces Old Billingsgate was the premier event space for hosting this event.

The Food Show team were onsite, at the venue, early in the morning to start the installation of cloakrooms, reception, bars, dining rooms, and kitchen.  Our Event Planners paid meticulous attention to detail when setting the 110 tables for dinner, and with 45 bars to set up for the reception we could ensure that all guests were served drinks on arrival.

At 6.30pm 1,100 guests arrived at Old Billingsgate for the welcome reception, at 7.15pm guests were called for dinner starting with welcome speeches from presenter Sophie Raworth (journalist and broadcaster for the BBC) and key personnel from AIM.  At 7.40pm dinner service commenced with only 95 minutes to serve a three-course fine dining dinner to 110 tables, our preparation, organisation and staff briefing were of high importance,  Guests were served a three-course menu starting with heritage tomato salad with velvety buffalo mozzarella and olive oil ice-cream; followed  by confit duck leg with orange braised chicory, potato dauphinoise, and spiced port reduction; followed by a dessert of passionfruit fruit tart with mango fluid get and sesame orange tuille.  All our pre-planning ensured that we delivered flawless service to all guests.

Guests then enjoyed the awards ceremony and after-dinner entertainment with comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

The Food Show team coordinated over 41 pallets worth of equipment and 200 staff onsite.  Using an incredible 105 litres of cream, 410kg of potatoes, 1,200 duck legs, 45kg of endives, 120 litres of jus, 55 litres of passionfruit and 35 litres of olive oil ice-cream!  All in a days work!
