Tower of London – Spring Fling!

Food Show were delighted to be the caterer for the event and our Director of Food, Max Uyanik, selected a bespoke ‘spring’ inspired menu to compliment the evening’s theme.  We were delighted to partner with HRP Events and the following suppliers: Great Hire Ltd, Lavender Green, Wow Grass, Wise Productions, Twilight Trees and Prelude Entertainment.

The Tower of London welcomed 120 guests to an exclusive showcase event on 19 April.  The evening’s theme was ‘Spring Fling’ and the venue looked, and smelt, divine with Lavender Green’s beautiful Spring Trees, befitting the theme exactly.

As guests arrived they were treated to an exclusive viewing of the Crown Jewels, then moved through to the White Tower for drinks and canapés.  A delicious range of our signature canapés were served including steak & frites with warm béarnaise sauce; Foie Gras ‘Rocher’ with cherry glaze; Colchester crab salad with yuzu foam & puffed squid ink wafer and coconut espuma with sweet garden pea mousseline & curry snow.

Guests were seated for dinner in the New Armouries, where we served a starter of sous-vide hand dived scallops marinated in kaffir lime leaf, apple tartare, leche de tigre and finished with yuzu caviar.   A main course of spring canon of lamb, courgette & basil puree, pommes anna, smoked burrata and light lamb jus followed.  A selection of desserts were served on the ‘terrace’ which was revealed to guests from behind a silk curtain; to give the illusion of bringing outdoor space within.

Desserts included deconstructed carrot cake; green tea parfait; spring rhubarb trifle; mandarin textura with lemon verbena; sticky toffee pudding with banana caramel & mini eclairs.

Laura Drake, commercial events manager at the Tower of London, said: “We were thrilled to welcome so many guests to the showcase event. The evening was a fantastic way for myself and the team to highlight how we can transform this wonderfully historic setting into a more contemporary space with décor and production elements.  The event was also a great way for us to communicate Historic Royal Palaces’ charitable cause, as all events held at the Palaces contribute towards conserving these iconic venues and ensuring they remain well maintained and open for all to enjoy.”
